Completion of Distriport Waalhaven phase II
Following the successful development and letting of phase I of Distriport Waalhaven in 2016, on 1 February this year phase II of this development was completed. Some 20% of this phase has already been let. This development is the result of close cooperation between ProDelta and the Port of Rotterdam. The old dock warehouses and offices have been demolished and the entire Hilgersweg has been reconfigured. A complex redevelopment project, which had to take account of unexploded ordnance from the Second World War, asbestos remediation and protected animal species. The end result is a successful transformation of an outdated industrial zone into a modern logistics location.
Distriport Waalhaven is a modern distribution complex which offers a very high finishing specification. For example, this complex has BREEAM certification, is gas-free and the roof is entirely covered with solar panels. The superflat floor and a point load of 9,000 kg suitable for narrow aisles are also distinctive features. Phase 2 comprises units 4 to 8 with a total floor area of more than 17,000 m² of warehouse space, to let from 3,200 m².
